Signing In to ContactDrive
There is no password to remember in ContactDrive. There is no password to forget, either, and that is rather the point.
We removed passwords from the product entirely. Instead you get in one of two ways: with your Google account, or with a link and a short code we email you on the spot. Both are faster than typing a password, and neither one can be leaked in somebody else's data breach.
Signing in with Google
If the email on your ContactDrive account is a Google or Google Workspace address, this is the quickest door.
- Go to core.contactdrive.io and click Continue with Google.
- Pick the Google account that matches your ContactDrive email.
- That's it — you land straight in your workspace.
If you have several Google accounts signed in on that browser, take a second to pick the right one. ContactDrive matches you by email address, so signing in with your personal Gmail when your account is on your work address will look like you don't have an account at all.
Signing in with an emailed code
No Google account, or you'd rather not use it? Use the code.
- Go to core.contactdrive.io, type your email address, and click the sign-in button.
- Check your inbox. The email we send contains both a sign-in link and a six-digit code — they are two ways of using the same thing, so use whichever is handier.
- Click the link, or type the six digits back into the tab you started in.
- You're in.
Opening the link on your phone when you started on your laptop is fine. Typing the code back into the original tab is also fine. Do whichever one your hands are already near.
What to know about the code
A few deliberate limits, so you aren't surprised by them:
- It expires in 15 minutes. Both the link and the code. If you get distracted, just request a fresh one — there's no penalty and no limit on how often you can ask.
- It works exactly once. Once you've used the link or the code, it's spent. This is why clicking an old link from a previous email gives you "no longer valid" — you want the newest email in the thread, not the first one.
- Five wrong guesses and it's dead. Mistype the code five times and that code stops working entirely. Request a new one and carry on.
- Invitations get longer. If you were invited to a workspace by an admin, that invitation link is good for 24 hours rather than 15 minutes, because invitations tend to sit in an inbox for a while before anyone acts on them.
Troubleshooting
The email hasn't arrived. Give it a minute, then check spam and any promotions tab. If your organization filters mail aggressively, ask whoever runs your email to allow mail from ContactDrive.
"That sign-in link is no longer valid." The link either expired or was already used. Your email address will already be filled in on the screen — request a fresh one and you're a few seconds from being in.
"We don't recognize that address." The email you typed isn't on a ContactDrive account. Check for typos, and check whether your account is on a different address than the one you reach for by habit. If you were invited by a teammate, use the exact address the invitation went to.
You're bounced back to the sign-in screen repeatedly. Clear your browser cache and try again — see How to clear your browser cache on iPhone if you're on mobile.
What about the mobile app?
The ContactDrive mobile app still shows a password field for now, while older installs age out. If you're using it, "Sign in with a code instead" gets you the same passwordless flow described above, and it's the one we'd point you to.
